Mandolin Workshop Reminder - April 2nd 3:00pm

Just a reminder that we're having a Mandolin Workshop with Fred Redekop on April 2nd, 2005. Fred is one of Manitoba's most respected mandolin players and has played with the Ain't No Mountain Boys, Keystone Bluegrass Quartet, and most recently with Alan Popowitch in a bluegrass duo that has released two critically acclaimed CDs.

The workshop begins at 3:00pm here at the shop and will be an open demonstration of styles and techniques. Feel free to bring your mandolins along. There is no cost for this workshop, but there is still space available so contact us at 783-2542 to reserve your space.

Eastman Mandolin Feature

I gotta tell you this is the sweetest mandolin we've ever had at the shop. Flamed maple back and sides and a lovely spruce top. The folks at Eastman Strings have done a wonderful job of finishing this instrument with a classic hand polish finish. They shipped this mandolin with a fitted mandolin case that has plenty of storage room and cradles the mandolin in luxury. Come try it out before it sells!

New website coming soon

Yesterday I had a meeting with our web programmer. We were looking at the new online catalogue we are producing and it is fantastic. Once we launch (in about a week or so) you will be able to search our inventory for anything we carry. So if you're shopping for a guitar with Rosewood back and sides, you'll be able to type that into our search facility and see only those models that fit your criteria. Or you can look at the entire inventory. Also there will be multiple pictures for each item on line. That means that you will have many views of the item to choose from. Finally you will be given a notice about it's stock status. You will know as you search if the item is a one-of-a-kind, a regular stock item or an out of stock item.

This will be a big leap forward for us, and we're very excited. I'll be sure to tell you when to surf on by.
